-- Huatai Securities (HKG:6886, SHA:601688) could soon start the operations of its securities business in Japan, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The Chinese brokerage established Huatai Securities Japan Preparation in Tokyo last September 2025, with former Daiwa Securities (TYO:8601) manager Shinji Shibuya leading the unit, the report said.
Huatai CEO Zhou Yi is a director at the Japan unit, while Chief Financial Officer Jiao Xiaoning is also overseeing the branch, the report said.
Huatai's establishment in Japan comes as the country's financial market is attracting firms worldwide, the report said.
