-- Altair Minerals (ASX:ALR) said its inaugural drilling program started at the Greater Oko project in Guyana, comprising of 15,000 meters of diamond drilling and 15,000 meters of rotary air blast drilling, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
Initial drilling will start at the North Peters prospect, per the filing. Ongoing geochemical and geophysics works across the project will support a multi-year pipeline of priority targets.
The company reported trenching results of 16.5 meters at 9.7 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold, as well as 39 meters at 3.8 g/t grade of gold from the North Peters prospect, the filing said.
Altair Minerals' shares rose 10% in recent trading on Tuesday, reaching a five-year peak.
