Contact Energy Applies to Quote Shares Issued in Connection With King Country Energy Deal

-- Contact Energy (ASX:CEN, NZE:CEN) has applied to quote about 5 million ordinary shares issued in connection with its acquisition of an additional stake in King Country Energy, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

Contact Energy purchased the remaining roughly 25% interest in King Country to take full ownership of the renewable energy firm.

The consideration of NZ$47 million was paid to the trustees of King Country Trust through the issuance of the new shares.

Marubeni Subdiary Acquires 85% Stake in Spain's Factorenergia for EUR204 Million

Marubeni (TYO:8002), through its SmartestEnergy subsidiary, has acquired a majority stake in Factor Energia for 204 million euros, strengthening its presence in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.Following the deal, SmartestEnergy holds an 85% share in the business, while founder Emili Rousaud retains 15%, continues as CEO, and joins SmartestEnergy's executive committee, according to a statement on Thursday.The acquisition of Factorenergia is a key step in the expansion of this division and contributes to the achievement of Marubeni's GC2027 medium-term management strategy and growth objectives.Founded in 1999 and based in Barcelona, Factorenergia is an independent electricity and gas retailer in Spain, serving over 300,000 customers with products that support decarbonization, such as solar installations and EV charging points. The company has expanded internationally with subsidiaries in Portugal, Mexico, Chile, and Brazil.

Predictive Discovery Completes Merger With Robex Resources

Predictive Discovery (ASX:PDI) said it has completed its merger with Robex Resources, with the combined company targeting production of more than 400,000 ounces of gold per year by 2029, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.The company said the merger became effective on April 15, with Predictive acquiring all issued and outstanding common shares of Robex through its unit 9548-5991 Quebec by way of a statutory plan of arrangement.Predictive Discovery said it issued about 2.17 billion shares as consideration to former holders of Robex shares and Robex chess depository interests, representing about AU$2.02 billion in aggregate, at AU$7.31 per share based on the closing price of AU$0.93 on April 15.The company said PDI shares issued to former Robex holders are expected to commence trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on April 20, and on the ASX on April 22, with Robex shares delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange on or about April 17, and Robex chess depository interests delisted from the ASX on April 15.
