-- The European Commission said Friday that Commissioner Dan Jorgensen will visit Spain from April 20-21 to address key issues, including energy security, with national and regional stakeholders.
The visit will span Madrid and Barcelona, where discussions will center on reducing energy costs, among others, with policymakers, industry groups, and youth representatives.
In Madrid, Jorgensen is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Ecological Transition Minister Sara Aagesen to review clean energy priorities and broader transition strategies, the Commission said.
He will also participate in the Esade Annual Energy Meeting and deliver remarks at the WindEurope Annual Event 2026, both focused on advancing secure, affordable and sustainable energy systems.
In Barcelona, the commissioner will visit Fusion for Energy, the European Union agency contributing to the ITER project, a large-scale initiative aimed at developing fusion-based energy solutions, the Commission added.
