-- Haranga Resources (ASX:HAR) said its board approved a proposal to change its name to American West Gold, according to a Monday fling with the Australian bourse.
The proposed name change reflects a strategic focus on gold, specifically the company's Lincoln Gold Project in California, where it believes "recent work streams are materially de-risking the development pathway."
The change is subject to shareholder approval, which will be sought at the company's next annual general meeting.
Additionally, the company has reserved the "AWG" code on the Australian exchange, planned to be adopted after the name change, subject to shareholder approval and confirmation from the bourse.
Haranga Resources shares were down more than 3% in recent Monday trade.
