-- Reabold Resources (RBD.L) said Monday it is assessing the potential deployment of a small-scale power plant at the West Newton A well site in its Yorkshire project in the UK to mine Bitcoin from initial gas flows.
The project is intended to demonstrate Yorkshire's ability to support data center developments and potentially a large-scale data center at the site, according to a same-day filing.
The investment company added that Yorkshire will continue to be advanced as an onshore natural gas resource for the "benefit of the UK energy security."
Reabold's statement aims to clarify The Telegraph's Sunday report, which said the gas site will be "exploited for mining Bitcoin" instead of boosting British energy supply.
