-- ConocoPhillips (COP) has sent a team to Venezuela to evaluate the prospects of oil drilling in the country, several media outlets reported Thursday, citing a company statement.
The team is being sent to "better understand the potential for in-country oil and gas opportunities.... we will evaluate Venezuela against other international opportunities as part of our disciplined investment framework," said Dennis Nuss, a ConocoPhillips spokesman, according to Bloomberg
The company left Venezuela back in 2007 after its assets were nationalised, according to Reuters.
ConocoPhillips did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
