-- NiSource (NI) signed a long-term energy agreement with a subsidiary of Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) to support the development and operation of a large data center in northern Indiana.
Service for Alphabet is expected to start this summer, NiSource said Thursday in a statement.
NiSource also expanded its agreement with Amazon.com's (AMZN) Amazon Data Services to speed the process of bringing Amazon sites online and to accelerate related bill credits for residential customers.
The company said it now expects about $1.25 billion in aggregate cost savings for existing customers.
NiSource shares rose 2.6% in after-hours trading, Alphabet gained 0.2%, and Amazon eased 0.1%.
