Upcoming Earnings This Week — Dates, Estimates & Historical Data
Complete earnings calendar for this week. See which companies report, Wall Street EPS estimates, historical surprise rates, and pre-earnings context for major names.
Each week during earnings season, hundreds of publicly traded companies release their quarterly financial results. These disclosures move markets — a major beat from a bellwether company like Apple or NVIDIA can lift entire sectors, while a significant miss can trigger broad selloffs.
How to Prepare for Earnings
Before a company reports, informed investors review:
- The consensus estimate: What analysts collectively expect for EPS and revenue. This is the bar the company needs to clear.
- Historical surprise rate: Has this company consistently beaten estimates? Companies with strong beat track records often set conservative guidance that they can exceed.
- Recent price action: Stocks that have run up sharply into earnings need a bigger beat to continue rallying (the "buy the rumor, sell the news" dynamic).
- Sector context: If sector peers have already reported with mixed results, this provides context for what to expect.

Understanding Earnings Beats and Misses
The earnings surprise percentage measures how much a company's actual EPS differed from the consensus estimate:
Surprise % = (Actual EPS − Estimated EPS) ÷ |Estimated EPS| × 100
Historically, S&P 500 companies beat consensus estimates roughly 70% of the time — analysts tend to set estimates conservatively. A small beat (1–3%) is already priced in by the market. True outperformance typically requires a 5%+ beat combined with raised forward guidance.
